HOW TO MAKE BISCUITS AND GRAVY CASSEROLE

A wonderful and substantial recipe that works equally well for breakfast or brunch, biscuits, and gravy casserole is one of those dishes. It is made out of biscuits that are light and airy, combined with sausage gravy that is smooth and creamy, and then cooked together in a casserole dish. This meal is simple to prepare and is guaranteed to please every one of your guests.
The biscuits and gravy casserole is a meal that can either be used to serve a large number of people or can just be enjoyed at home for a substantial breakfast or brunch. It is both easy and tasty. Give it a go, and I promise you won’t be sorry you did!

THE INGREDIENTS LIST:

1 Lb.Of pork breakfast sausage.

1/3 Cup.Of all-purpose flour.

3 cups of whole milk.

1/2 Tsp.Of salt.

1/4 Tsp.Of black pepper.

1/4 Tsp.Of cayenne pepper.

1/4 Tsp.Of garlic powder.

1/4 Tsp.Of onion powder.

1 can.Of refrigerated biscuits (8 count).

PREPARATION:

1st Step

Turn the oven up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2nd Step

In a pan set over a heat source of the medium, fry the morning sausage until it is browned and cooked all the way through. Using a slotted spoon, remove the sausage from the pan and put it aside.

3rd Step

Leave the drippings from the sausage in the skillet and add the flour to the skillet. Combine the drippings and flour in a mixing bowl and stir until the mixture is smooth.

4th Step

While continuously swirling the mixture in the skillet, gradually add the milk until it is completely smooth. Bring the mixture up to a simmer and continue stirring it for around five minutes, or until the gravy has reached the desired thickness.

5th Step

After adding the salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to the gravy, as well as the garlic powder and onion powder, mix to incorporate.

6th Step

Cut each biscuit into quarters and place the biscuit quarters in a greased 9×13 inch casserole dish.

7th Step

Pour the sausage gravy over the biscuit quarters in the casserole dish.

8th Step

Bake the casserole in an oven that has been warmed for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the biscuits have reached the desired color and the gravy has reached the desired consistency.

9th Step

Wait a few minutes after the dish has cooled down before serving it.

RECIPE NOTES:

To make the dish even heartier, you can add some cooked and crumbled bacon to the sausage gravy.

If you prefer a spicier dish, you can add more cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the gravy.

This dish can be prepared the night before and then baked in the morning for a quick and easy breakfast or brunch.

To keep leftovers fresh for up to three days, place them in an airtight container and place them in the refrigerator. Prior to serving, reheat in the microwave or oven as necessary.
